Our client is an international industrial group operating in the areas of automation, corporate IT infrastructure, and secure technology environments. Due to the further development of infrastructure, platform, and security-related projects, the company is looking for a specialist for the position of:
DevOps Engineer / IT Security Engineer
This role is positioned at the intersection of DevOps, IT Operations, Cloud Engineering, and IT Security. It is neither a pure cybersecurity role nor a classic DevOps position. The ideal candidate should have solid practical experience with infrastructure, platforms, cloud environments, and automation, combined with a good understanding of IT security requirements, access management, monitoring, and incident processes.
Main responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and further develop IT platforms and infrastructure environments;
- Automate deployment, operational, and infrastructure processes;
- Work with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker and monitoring tools;
- Support the implementation of security requirements within platform and infrastructure environments;
- Work with access concepts, user rights, identity and access management, and access control topics;
- Support incident handling, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of system stability;
- Analyze technical risks and suggest improvements related to security, reliability, and operational performance;
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, IT Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Operations teams;
- Contribute to compliance, audit preparation, and security governance processes depending on the project environment.
Main requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: DevOps, IT Operations, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or IT Security;
- Good knowledge of Linux;
- Practical experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or comparable platforms;
- Experience with CI/CD processes and automation;
- Knowledge of or hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker;
- Understanding of IT security principles, access management, monitoring, and incident processes;
- Ability to work in security-sensitive environments where reliability and technical precision are essential;
- Structured working style, analytical mindset, and attention to detail;
- German language skills at a minimum B2 level;
- English language skills at a minimum B2/C1 level.
Strong advantages:
- Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code solution;
- Experience with ISO 27001, IAM, SIEM or vulnerability management;
- Previous experience in industrial, automotive, automation or corporate IT environments;
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud security or platform security;
- Certifications in security, cloud, Kubernetes, Linux or ITIL.
What is important for this role:
The company is looking for a candidate who can understand both operational platform topics and security requirements. Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, cloud, and automation are important evaluation criteria. This position is suitable for professionals who do not want to be limited to either DevOps or cybersecurity only, but prefer a role that combines infrastructure, cloud, security, and system stability.

Recruitment process:

A live coding test is unlikely. The technical assessment is expected to be more scenario-based, focusing on DevOps, cloud, security, and operations topics.
The expected hiring timeline is approximately four to eight weeks.
