Cloud & Data Engineer

BAB Consult is looking for a Cloud & Data Engineer for an international private group operating in the insurance and financial services sector.

This role is best suited for candidates with a strong background in Cloud Engineering and Data Engineering. AI-related topics are part of the environment, but they are not the main focus of the position. The approximate focus of the role is:

• • 40% Cloud Engineering
• • 35% Data Engineering
• • 15% DevOps / Automation
• • 10% AI-related topics

What you will do:

• • Develop, operate and improve cloud-based technical platforms.
• • Build and maintain data pipelines and data solutions.
• • Work with cloud services, mainly Azure and/or AWS.
• • Use technologies such as Kubernetes, SQL, Python, or comparable tools.
• • Automate processes, deployments and platform operations.
• • Support stable, secure, and scalable cloud/data environments.
• • Work closely with international technical teams.
• • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• • Contribute to data quality, platform reliability and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

• • At least 4 years of previous experience in Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering, DevOps, or Software Development with a cloud focus.
• • Strong experience with Azure or AWS
• • Good knowledge of Kubernetes
• • Experience with SQL and Python
• • Experience with data pipelines and technical platforms
• • Understanding of automation and stable platform operations
• • Basic understanding of IT security and data quality
• • Experience with agile working methods
• • Ability to prepare clear technical documentation
• • English level: B2/C1 or higher
• • German level: minimum B1 required

Work model:

The position is hybrid. Remote work is possible depending on the team and project structure, but candidates must be available for on-site meetings and appointments in Munich when required.

Important eligibility requirement:

This position is open only to EU citizens who already have the right to work in Germany and do not require visa sponsorship, work permit support, Blue Card support, document renewal assistance, or any employer support related to work authorization.

Team size:

The candidate will join a technical team of approximately 5 to 8 people.
